The Story
The Reference 5370R‑001 is Patek Philippe’s prestigious split seconds chronograph presented in 18 ct rose gold within a 41 mm case, measuring approximately 13.56 mm thick and water-resistant to 30 m. Its dial showcases an exquisite two tone Grand Feu enamel composition, featuring a chocolate brown central surface framed by a beige champlevé enamel tachymeter ring and contrasting subdials. The applied rose gold Breguet numerals and leaf-shaped hands with luminescent coating perfectly complement the rich hue of the enamel, creating a harmonious and visually striking display. The case is refined by alternating polished and satin-finished surfaces, concave bezel, and ergonomic pushers, including a traditional split seconds pusher integrated into the fluted crown. The watch offers dual caseback options: sapphire crystal to view the movement, or solid rose gold for a more classical appearance.
Powering the timepiece is the hand-wound Caliber CHR 29‑535 PS, a 312-part masterpiece featuring a split seconds (rattrapante) chronograph, instantaneous 30-minute counter, and small seconds run at 4 Hz. Boasting seven patented innovations, including optimized chronograph wheels and self-adjusting split seconds hammers, it delivers a minimum 65 hour power reserve. The movement reflects Patek Philippe’s dedication to combining classical chronograph architecture, column wheel and horizontal clutch, with technical performance enhancements. Completing the ensemble is a shiny dark chestnut alligator leather strap, secured by a patented triple blade rose gold fold over clasp, reinforcing both comfort and elegance.
